And Best Nude Actress goes to..
Us too! So we've come up with a list of girls who just might have won a special sort of Oscar last night had that gong existed.
We've shortlisted beauties including Penélope Cruz, above, who stripped off as Carolyn in Elogy.
Kate Winslet could have added to her trophy cabinet going nude in The Reader.
And the O.C's Mischa Barton would also have been in with a shout for Closing the Ring.
These scenes might be more red light that red carpet but they still take some skill.
Bras are hard enough to undo at the best of times, let alone on camera.
Plus these beauties have to remember their lines if they have any.
And perfect the art of blurting out ooohs and ahhhs in the right places.
Click on each of the pics above to reveal our would-be naughty nominees.
Who knows - maybe next year the Oscars bosses will listen to our call and bring in an official prize.
American Idol's Top 12 Glass Half Full
After another hit-or-(terribly)-miss performance night, the voting public lofted another three hopefuls into the upper echelons of Idoldom, aka the Top 12.
We had high hopes for Allison Iraheta, Megan Corkrey, Adam Lambert, Jesse Langseth and a couple others. But with only a few slots to fill, we were going to have to be wrong about some people.
Well, yeah, we were wrong. And yet right at the same time!
A big voice in a small package, 16-year-old Allison, singlehandedly woke up the judges, who had been sinking into their chairs under the weight of bad song choices, when she boomed out "Alone."
Her mature performance scored her tonight's first ticket into the Top 12 when Ryan Seacrest started the reaping and sowing.Adam, with his David Cook-reminiscent hairdo and theatrical but inviting stage presence, was also a near sure thing—and sure enough, to his and our "Satisfaction," America agreed.
We had been thinking the third slot would go to one of the ladies—Megan, Jesse or Mishavonna Henson, perhaps.
But it was Kris Allen, aided by darn good looks, sheer likeability and potential—his "Man in the Mirror" was better the second time around, minus the nerves— who filled the final slot.
Minus the six slots that will be filled in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, the judges finally admitted out loud that they would be picking a few of their favorite for the upcoming Wild Card sing-off, to take place March 5.
"Maybe even a couple from tonight you're going to see again," teased Simon Cowell.
The last group of semifinalists—Arianna Afsar, the lucky Felicia Barton, Kendall Beard, Ju'Not Joyner, Nathaniel Marshall, Kristen McNamara, Lil Rounds, Scott MacIntyre, Jorge Nuñez, Von Smith, Taylor Vaifanua and Alex Wagner-Trugman—take the stage next Wednesday.

Slumdog and Kate Win-a-lot
Six times nominated Kate kept it together as she finally accepted her first Best Actress gong and DANNY BOYLE'S low budget movie swept the board with a total of eight awards, including Best Director and Best Picture.
"I'd be lying if I said I hadn't made up some version of this speech," she said.
"I was eight years old and I'd have been standing in front of the bathroom mirror, and this would have been a shampoo bottle. It's not a shampoo bottle now!"
Thanking her mum and dad she looked for them in the audience and said: "Dad, whistle or something so I can tell where you are."
A loud whistle from the left of the theatre made the audience laugh and prompted an "I love you!" from The Reader actress.
Danny Boyle jumped up and down as he scooped the Best Director gong, the seventh of the evening for Slumdog Millionaire.
And after running up to the podium he explained: "My kids are too old to remember but when they were very young I promised that if this magic moment ever came, I would receive it in the spirit of Tigger. So that's what that was."

He went on to thank his children, his wife and, bizarrely, the St Mary's Social Club in Radcliffe.
Writer SIMON BEAUFOY scooped the first British Oscar when he won Best Adapted Screenplay.
And the movie also won awards for Best Cinematography, Film Editing and Sound Mixing, Best Original Score and Best Original Song.

The Best Actor category provided the only surprise of the evening when the award went to Milk star SEAN PENN instead of hot favourite MICKEY ROURKE, who has already bagged a Golden Globe and Bafta for his role in The Wrestler.
The winning actor, who plays gay activist Harvey Milk in the movie, raised a laugh when he called the audience "Commie, homo-loving sons of guns".
Vicky Cristina Barcelona star PENELOPE CRUZ beat AMY ADAMS, MARISA TOMEI, VIOLA DAVIS and Benjamin Button star TARAJI P. HENSON to walk away with the Best Supporting Actress gong.
The stunning star made part of her speech in Spanish and told the audience: "I dreamed of this since I was a little girl."
WALL. E cleaned up in the Best Animation category after presenter JACK BLACK joked: "Each year I do a Dreamworks movie then I take all the money to the Oscars and bet it on Pixar."
Addressing the Dreamworks head, co-host JENNIFER ANISTON added: "I'm sorry MR KATZENBERG. I don't know why we let him out."
HEATH LEDGER'S mum, dad and sister collected the Best Supporting Actor gong for his role as The Joker in The Dark Knight.
EDDIE MURPHY presented comedian JERRY LEWIS with the Humanitarian Award for his work with children suffering from muscular dystrophy.
2009 Chicago Auto Show
Okay, so all-wheel drive on the 2009 Lamborghini Murciélago probably won't help you much in the snow, but it sure helps put the 632 bhp down to the pavement. The Murciélago — a striking 2-door with a mid-mounted 6.5-liter V-12 — turns heads wherever it goes thanks to its origami-inspired styling and outrageous scissor-style doors. With all four wheels doing the work, the Murciélago sprints to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds.
2010 Audi R8 5.2 FSI Quattro
Perhaps the sexiest 2-seater to come down the road in recent memory is the 2010 Audi R8 5.2 FSI Quattro. This shapely mid-engine exotic not only has all-wheel drive, but thanks to an all-new 5.2-liter V-10 pumping out 518 bhp, it now has much-needed muscle, which enables it to charge to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds. Of course, you can always opt for the standard R8, which is powered by a 4.2.-liter V-8 making only 420 bhp.
2009 Bentley Continental GT Speed
This comely coupe is as powerful as it is surefooted.
The 2009 Bentley Continental GT Speed has a twin-turbo 6.0-liter W-12 that sends 600 bhp to all four wheels, enabling this British-built supercar to hit 60 mph in 4.0 seconds. But fast is only half of it. The richly appointed interior with matched wood veneers, luxurious leather and chromed organ-stop air vents makes this 2-door wonder a pleasure to savor either at speed or standing still.
2009 Mercedes-Benz S550 4Matic
Here's where practicality and luxury meet. The 2009 Mercedes-Benz S550 4Matic takes the winter worry out of driving Mercedes' flagship sedan. Power is sent to all four wheels from a 5.5-liter V-8 that produces 382 bhp. The S-Class blends stately exterior styling with a luxurious interior that offers quiet solitude from the winter elements. In addition to all-wheel drive, the S-Class boasts such conveniences as automatic set -and-forget cruise control.
2009 Nissan GT-R
Shaking up the exotic car status quo is the 2009 Nissan GT-R, a supercar from an unlikely source. The Japanese automaker fits this muscular-looking 2-door coupe with a twin-turbo 3.8-liter V-6 pumping out an astounding 470 bhp. The GT-R is capable of 0– 60-mph acceleration of about 4.0 seconds. And yes, it has all-wheel drive with three settings: Normal, R (for high-speed track work) and Snow, which uses a less aggressive shift strategy to make this powerful exotic a car for all seasons.
Nintendo DSi coming April 5
The revamped version -- dubbed the "DSi" -- is slightly thinner and has larger screens than the original DS, but its most noticeable change is Nintendo's addition of two cameras: one inside, pointing towards the player, and one outside, positioned rather like a cellphone camera. Inside the case, the console's hardware is upgraded with faster processors and extra memory. It'll also accept a SD memory card for saving pictures or storing music.
Along with upgraded networking features like better wireless support and a free web browser, the DSi will also be able to go online to a Nintendo store similar to the Wii's Shop Channel. Gamers will be able to use it to purchase games for download to the DSi's internal memory -- much like the bigger consoles can already do, in fact.
Releasing on April 5 for $170, the new DS will be $40 more expensive than the current DS model, but still matches or beats both its competitors, the Sony PSP, which is also $170, and the iPod Touch, which starts at $230. Regular games for the DSi will still cost around $30; a bit cheaper than most PSP titles, but considerably more expensive than iPod Touch games which, while typically much simpler, seldom venture above the $10 mark.
So price aside, how does the software selection up? The DSi will be able to play all past DS game, but unlike earlier DS models, it won't be able to play older Game Boy Advance titles. Future games will likely take advantage of the machine's camera, but there's nothing on the market just yet that supports it. The DS has a considerably broader (and arguably better) selection of games than either the PSP or the iPod Touch, and thanks to its enormous install base, its future as a viable gaming platform is unchallenged.
But will the DSi's media-friendly upgrades make it a legit challenger the PSP or iPod Touch's more advanced capabilities? Don't hold your breath. Either of those machines is still going to be a better bet if you want a one-gadget-fits-all machine that'll let you play music, watch movies, and browse the Internet.
However, the games-first focus of the DS line has only benefited it. Already home to massive-selling, unique franchises like Brain Age, Pokemon, and Nintendogs, the next few months hold yet more promising releases like Rockstar's all-new Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars. And we're really curious to find out what Nintendo, ever ready to come up with inventive control systems, can do with that camera. If you want in on the action, you're going to need one.

A man in search of his missing sister stumbles across a deadly secret in the woods surrounding Crystal Lake as Texas Chainsaw Massacre redux duo Michael Bay and Marcus Nispel resurrect one of the silver screen's most feared slashers -- machete-wielding, hockey mask-wearing madman Jason Voorhees.
The last time Clay heard from his sister, she was headed toward Crystal Lake. There, amidst the creaky old cabins and moss-coated trees, an unstoppable force of evil lies quietly dormant, patiently waiting for the perfect moment to strike. Though the police and locals all warn Clay to stay as far away from Crystal Lake as possible, it's the only lead he has, and he isn't willing to give up until he finds his sister. Clay isn't the only one inhabiting these woods either, because a group of thrill-seeking college students have just arrived at Crystal Lake hoping for a wild weekend of fun in the sun.
Later, as Clay and one of the recently arrived revelers search for clues, the infamous Jason Voorhees emerges to show them just why the locals have avoided these woods for years. Could it be that Clay's sister has already met a grim demise at the end of Jason's razor-sharp machete, or is she still out there somewhere in the woods, waiting for her brother to come to her rescue? Freddy vs. Jason scribes Damian Shannon and Mark Swift pen the screenplay for a remake executive produced by Sean S. Cunningham (producer/director of the original Friday the 13th)

For Annie and Dixon, the awkwardness of being the new kids is made worse by the fact that their dad has taken a job as the high school principal. The school is one big culture shock for Annie, a sweet and friendly girl with a passion for the theater, and Dixon, a star athlete and scholar who was adopted by the Wilson family after they took him in as a foster child. Annie and Dixon have a close sibling relationship, which they'll need to help them cope with all the new cliques and classmates, including Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord, "Nip/Tuck"), a hot, spoiled, rich girl; Ethan (Dustin Milligan, "Runaway"), a popular jock whose abilities rival Dixon's; Navid (Michael Steger, "The Winner"), an aspiring journalist who heads up the school's daily newscast; and Silver (Jessica Stroup, "Prom Night"), a rebel who produces and stars in a YouTube-type video series.
Even the faculty seems hip and sophisticated at WBHHS, such as smart and funny teacher Ryan Matthews (Ryan Eggold, "Dirt") and beautiful guidance counselor Kelly Taylor (Jennie Garth, the original "Beverly Hills, 90210"). Kelly's former classmate, Donna Martin (Tori Spelling, the original "Beverly Hills, 90210"), owns a local clothing boutique. The Wilson family has just begun to realize how much their lives are about to change.
Zuckerberg Friends Former Feuder to Derail Facebook Movie?
That’s part of Valleywag’s conjectured reasoning for Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg having finally made some sort of amends with Eduardo Saverin. A fellow classmate at Harverd, Saverin has had an ongoing feud with Zuckerberg, maintaining that he’s a co-founder of Facebook and deserved some recognition. Now that Ben Mezrich, best-selling author of “Bringing Down the House,” is working on a book detailing the ugly side of Facebook’s beginnings, perhaps Zuckerberg is hoping that settling the score with Saverin will minimalize the amount of material he could have otherwise provided for Mezrich’s upcoming book.
As the book doesn’t have a publication date yet, this very well could have something to do with Zuckerberg’s sudden acknowledgment of Saverin, who is now listed as a Facebook co-founder on the website. The stakes were raised when West Wing creator Aaron Sorkin began looking to Mezrich’s book for a movie adaptation, just as Kevin Spacey did when “Bringing Down the House” was turned into the film “21.” Of course, the battle between Zuckerberg and Saverin is central to the sensationalized efforts behind the book and the film, which makes Zuckerberg’s acknowledgment of Saverin all the more suspect.
I can’t imagine that this move, however, would stop the book and film projects in their tracks. Zuckerberg hasn’t spoken to Mezrich about the book and even if Saverin can no longer provide the fodder needed to make Zuckerberg look bad, there are other ways to get information about the two of them and their involvement with Facebook’s beginings. If anything, this could make the story of Facebook appear all the more interesting.
10 Privacy Settings Every Facebook User Should Know
Perhaps he was tired of receiving my status updates or perhaps he didn’t want me to view photos from his personal life. Whatever the reason for ending our Facebook friendship, I figured that many people would benefit from a thorough overview on how to protect your privacy on Facebook. Below is a step by step process for protecting your privacy.
1. Use Your Friend Lists
I can’t tell you how many people are not aware of their friend lists. For those not aware of what friend lists are, Facebook describes them as a feature which allows “you to create private groupings of friends based on your personal preferences. For example, you can create a Friend List for your friends that meet for weekly book club meetings. You can create Friend Lists for all of your organizational needs, allowing you to quickly view friends by type and send messages to your lists.”
There are a few very important things to remember about friend lists:
- You can add each friend to more than one friend group
- Friend groups should be used like “tags” as used elsewhere around the web
- Friend Lists can have specific privacy policies applied to them
I’ll touch on each of the things listed above in more detail later. A typical setup for groups would be “Friends”, “Family”, and “Professional”. These three groups can then be used to apply different privacy policies. For example, you may want your friends to see photos from the party you were at last night, but you don’t want your family or professional contacts to see those photos.
Using friend lists is also extremely useful for organizing your friends if you have a lot of them. For instance I have about 20 friend lists and I categorize people by city (New York, San Francisco, D.C., Tel Aviv, etc), where I met them (conferences, past co-workers, through this blog), and my relationship with them (professional, family, social, etc).
You can configure your friend lists by visiting the friends area of your Facebook.
2. Remove Yourself From Facebook Search Results
My mom is a teacher and one of the first things she asked me when she joined Facebook is how she could make sure her students couldn’t see that she was on the site. Understandably my mom doesn’t want her middle school students to know what she’s up to in her personal life. There are numerous reasons that individuals don’t want their information to show up in search results on Facebook, and it’s simple to turn off your public visibility.
How to Remove Yourself From Facebook Search Results
Now that you’ve decided that you would like to remove yourself from Facebook’s search results, here’s how to do it:
- Visit your search privacy settings page
- Under “Search Visibility” select “Only Friends” (Remember, doing so will remove you from Facebook search results, so make sure you want to be removed totally. Otherwise, you can select another group, such as “My Networks and Friends” which I believe is the default.)
- Click “Save Changes”
By default, Facebook makes your presence visible to the network you are in. Frequently, people aren’t aware of their visibility, so this is one of the first settings that users wish to modify. By selecting “Customize” from the search visibility drop down you can make your settings even more granular.

3. Remove Yourself From Google

Facebook gets A TON of traffic from displaying user profiles in search engines. Not all of your profile is displayed though. Currently the information displayed in the search profile is limited to: your profile picture, a list of your friends, a link to add you as a friend, a link to send you a message, and a list of up to approximately 20 fan pages that you are a member of.
For some people, being displayed in the search engines is a great way to let people get in contact with you, especially if you don’t have an existing website. Facebook also tends to rank high in the search results, so if you want to be easy to find, making your search profile can be a great idea. Many people don’t want any of their information to be public though.
By visiting the same search privacy settings page listed in the previous step, you can control the visibility of your public search listing which is visible to Google and other search engines. You can turn off your public search listing by simply unchecking the box next to the phrase “Create a public search listing for me and submit it for search engine indexing” as pictured in the image below.

4. Avoid the Infamous Photo/Video Tag Mistake

This is the classic Facebook problem. You let loose for a few hours one night (or day) and photos (or videos) of the moment are suddenly posted for all to view, not just your close friends who shared the moment with you. The result can be devastating. Some have been fired from work after incriminating photos/videos were posted for the boss to see. For others, randomly tagged photos/videos have ended relationships.
At the least, a tagged photo/video can result in personal embarrassment. So how do you prevent the infamous tagged photo or video from showing up in all of your friends news feeds? It’s pretty simple. First visit your profile privacy page and modify the setting next to “Photos Tagged of You”. Select the option which says “Customize…” and a box like the one pictured below will pop up.
Select the option “Only Me” and then “None of My Networks” if you would like to keep all tagged photos private. If you’d like to make tagged photos visible to certain users you can choose to add them in the box under the “Some Friends” option. In the box that displays after you select “Some Friends” you can type either individual friends or friend lists.

5. Protect Your Albums

Just because you’ve uploaded photos doesn’t mean that you’ve accurately tagged every photo correctly. This setting is more of a reminder than anything else. Frequently people will turn of their tagged photo visibility to certain friend lists yet keep their photo albums public to the world. If you are trying to make all your photos invisible you must do so on an album by album basis.
There is a specific Photos Privacy page from which you can manually configure the visibility of each album (as pictured below). This is an extremely useful configuration option and I highly recommend that you take advantage of it. This way you can store your photos indefinitely on Facebook yet ensure that the only people that can view your photos are the ones who you really want to see them.

6. Prevent Stories From Showing Up in Your Friends’ News Feeds

Oh, did you really just break up with your girlfriend? I’m sorry to hear that. I’m sure all of your friends and business contacts are also sorry to hear that. I can’t tell you how many awkward relationship status changes I’ve seen. The most regular one I’ve seen recently is when an attractive female ends their relationship and numerous guys hop on the opportunity to console her.
I’ve also seen the end of marriages, as well as weekly relationship status changes as individuals try to determine where their relationship stands with their significant other. My personal policy is to not display a relationship status, but many like to make a public statement out of their relationship. For those individuals, it can be a smart move to hedge against future disasters.
There are a number of ways to control how your relationship status is displayed. The first thing that most people should do is uncheck the box next to “Remove Relationship Status” in the News Feed and Wall Privacy page. In the rare instance that a relationship does uncomfortably end, you can avoid making things more uncomfortable by avoiding a friend notification about it.
Second, your relationship status falls within your “Basic Information” section of your profile. You can control who can see your basic information next to the “Basic Information” setting on the Profile Privacy page. Keep in mind that other relevant profile information like your gender, birth date, networks, and other settings are visible within your basic information section.
Making your basic information completely invisible to friends probably isn’t a good idea, but removing the news feed stories about relationship changes most likely is.
7. Protect Against Published Application Stories

This one is a little more tricky to manage but I’ll explain the issue at hand. Frequently when you add an application, a news feed item is immediately published to your profile. One way to get instantly embarrassed is to visit the “Have Sex!” application (found here). This application has no purpose besides telling your friends that you are interested in having sex with them. Without taking any action, the application will post a news feed story to your profile which says the equivalent of “Nick just published to the world that he is having sex!”
This is surely something that none of your professional contacts if any of your contacts are interested in seeing (honestly I’m a bit confused about that application, but that’s a different story). That’s why it’s important to monitor what takes place after you install an application on Facebook. Once you install an application you should visit your profile to ensure that no embarrassing notification has been posted to your profile.
More often then not, nothing will be posted but there are many applications on the platform unfortunately that publish stories without you knowing it. There are two ways to avoid having this happen: don’t visit applications or scan your profile every time that you do. Ultimately you shouldn’t be concerned about applications that you’ve built a trusted relationship with but any new applications could potentially post embarrassing notifications.
8. Make Your Contact Information Private
I personally use Facebook for professional and personal use and it can frequently become overwhelming. That’s why I’ve taken the time to outline these ten privacy protection steps. One of the first things I did when I started approving friend requests from people that I hadn’t built a strong relationship with, was make my contact information visible only to close contacts.
The contact information is my personal email and phone number. It’s a simple thing to set but many people forget to do it. Frequently people we don’t know end up contacting us and we have no idea how they got our contact information. Your contact privacy can be edited right from your profile. If you have chosen to enter this information, you should see a “Contact Information” area under the “Info” tab in your profile.
If it displays, you simply click “Edit” and then a screen like the one pictured below will show up.
For each contact item that you have in your profile you should set custom privacy settings (as pictured below) so that contacts that you aren’t close to don’t have access to your phone number and/or email. It’s a small change but it can save you the hassle of being pestered by people you don’t know well. Also, protecting your privacy is generally a good practice to get in the habit of doing.
As a side note, this is a great area to take advantage of friend lists. By getting in the habit of grouping your friends, you can ensure that you are navigating Facebook safely through privacy settings that are attached to your friend lists.

9. Avoid Embarrassing Wall Posts
Just because you use Facebook for business doesn’t mean your friends do. That’s why once in a while a friend of yours will come post something embarrassing or not necessarily “work friendly” and it can end up having adverse effects. That’s why Facebook has provided you with the ability to customize your wall postings visibility. You can also control which friends can post on your wall. There are two places you can control these things.
Adjust Wall Posting Visibility

Within your profile page you can control who can view wall postings made by your friends. To do so, click on the “Settings” icon on the wall in your profile page. Next, find the box pictured in the image above and adjust the setting which says “Who can see posts made by friends?” I’d suggest using a strategy similar to the one outlined in the previous step regarding contact information.
Control Who Can Post to Your Wall
In addition to controlling who can view wall postings published by your friends, you also want to control which friends can post on your wall. Not everybody needs to do this, but occasionally you simply want to prevent some people from posting on your page. If you visit the Profile Privacy settings page, there is a section labeled “Wall Posts”.
From this area you can completely disable your friends’ ability to post on your wall. You can also select specific friend lists that can post on your wall. Personally, I don’t really care who can post on my wall but I can understand the need to control who can see those wall postings. If you want to limit who can post wall posts on your profile, this is where you can do it.
10. Keep Your Friendships Private
While it’s fun to show off that you have hundreds or thousands of friends on Facebook, some of your friends don’t want to live public lives. That’s why it’s often a good policy to turn off your friends’ visibility to others. I’ve had a number of individuals visit my profile and then selectively pick off friends that are relevant to them for marketing purposes, or other reasons.
Whatever the reason they are doing it, just know that they are … it’s part of what makes Facebook so addictive: the voyeuristic nature. Also, your friends are frequently visible to the public through search engines and exposing this information can ultimately present a security risk. To modify the visibility of your friends, visit the Profile Privacy page.
Navigate down to the setting which says “Friends” and then modify the setting to whatever is right for you.

Conclusion
These are just ten ways that you can protect your privacy on Facebook. While there are a few other small things to keep in mind, these ten settings are most important. Keep in mind that while you may have turned off the visibility of many profile sections, there is no way to prevent all photos or videos from being visible if friends of yours make the images visible.
The best way to prevent embarrassing items from showing up on Facebook in the future is to not make bad judgements in your personal life. We’re all human though and being completely paranoid about every choice you make is probably not the best way to live your life. Be aware of what privacy settings are available and be conscious of what your friends may be publishing about you.
While you may not want to configure all of the privacy settings outlined, simply knowing how to do so is a great step in the right direction. By following the 10 settings listed above you are well on your way to an embarrassment free future on Facebook!

EU warns on Facebook privacy
The alarm comes amid an outpouring of concern from parents and privacy advocates about the potentially negative effects of posting personal details and photographs to popular Web sites accessible from virtually any computer.
Youth job prospects have become a particular concern now that employers trawl social networking sites to discover details about whether potential employees are suitable hires. Another concern is how to enforce age limits on social networking sites so that Web surfers who are children are shielded from adults who have not been approved by parents.
Young people "are exposing their everyday life online without being aware of the risks the online activities could entail now and in the future for their own privacy," Barrot said Tuesday in a statement. "It is therefore crucial that those young people are educated how to surf the Internet in a privacy-friendly way." Barrot is responsible for matters concerning justice, freedom and security in the European Union.
EU officials also are concerned that information collected from such sites could be used by companies to flood consumers with unsolicited advertising or used by government agencies to compromise citizens' civil liberties.
The commission, the executive arm of the European Union, released the results of a study it conducted in late 2008 showing that 33 percent of respondents aged 15 to 24 were aware of their rights in relation to their own personal data, while 18 percent knew of the existence of national data protection supervisory authorities. Those figures are too low, the commission said.
Pink Hunter 2
Even worse than that, this is a follow-up to a poor remake of a much-loved classic.
Steve Martin again steps into Peter Sellers’s long-vacated shoes and finds his feet are so small he can’t stand up to original bungling French cop Inspector Clouseau.

Off key ... Steve Martin
The only reason Martin is chosen to play a half-wit so often is that he is not half as witty as he would like to think he is. Sure, no other comic actor out there at the moment has the timing to match Sellers, but don’t settle for 2,000th best.
In this unambitious effort Clouseau is part of an international detective “Dream Team” trying to catch thief The Tornado.
The actors involved are an expensive bunch all well past their best.
Apart from Martin, the cast includes Andy Garcia, Alfred Molina, Jeremy Irons and, most worryingly of all, John Cleese. The once legendary Monty Python star recently complained that he was forced to work to pay hefty alimony bills.
And it is clear from his lacklustre performance as Clouseau’s boss Chief Inspector Dreyfus that he really is only in it for the money.

Anything hose ... stars try their best
with feeble sight gags
The old Cleese would have at least come up with a silly French accent to outdo Martin’s ’Allo ’Allo! effort.
The plot of course, like Clouseau, fails to master the “element of surprise” — you can guess the true identity of The Tornado straight away. There are a few decent gags, such as Clouseau’s interrogation of The Pope who he deduces is a “spiritual man”. If you enjoy Mr Bean-style slapstick humour this will tickle you pink.
But Clouseau’s statement that “If we do remember it we will immediately forget it” definitely applies to Pink Panther 2.

How MySpace Works
Fifty-four million people have profiles on MySpace as of February 2006, and 180,000 more register to use the site every day. By all accounts, it's a phenomenon. Some people call it dumb luck, some call it brilliant and a few call it a sexual predator's dream come true. In this article, we'll find out what MySpace really is, what it can do for you, how it blew past the competition and why Rupert Murdoch thought it was worth $580 million.
Online Social Networking
On MySpace, your social network starts growing from day one without much effort on your part. That's part of the draw. Basic MySpace networking works something like this:
- You join MySpace and create a profile.
- You invite your friends to join MySpace and search MySpace for your friends who are already members. These people become part of your initial "Friend Space."
- All of the people in your friends' Friend Space become part of your network. You now have connections to more people than you did 15 minutes ago.

Now, technically, everyone on MySpace is in your Extended Network, because when you create a profile, MySpace co-founder Tom Anderson is automatically added to your Friend Space. We're all connected through Tom. To explore your Extended Network, you can go to one of your friends' profiles, see who's in his Friend Space, click on a picture to visit one of those people's profiles, see who's in that person's Friend Space and work your way down the line. (It's definitely not the easiest way to play the Kevin Bacon game once you take Tom out of the equation.) You can request to add anyone to your Friend Space, and if your invitation is accepted, you can send that person e-mail, instant messages, links to a band you discovered in MySpace Music and anything else you might share with your friends.
There's a lot more to MySpace than networking, but that's the core concept. The big question is why MySpace has succeeded where so many others have failed. Lots of people expound on this mystery from a business or philosophical perspective, but there are at least a few obvious answers. First and possibly foremost, there's the music connection.
Some of the first people to utilize MySpace were musicians and bands, who may have heard about it in the first place from the Web site's founders, who were active in the L.A. music scene. Bands used it to establish a free online presence to post performance dates and communicate with their fans. In 2004, MySpace became a full-fledged Internet indie-music portal with the creation of MySpace Music, a subsection on MySpace. The new area let bands not only create an online presence, but also stream their music through their MySpace profiles and let people download MP3s of their songs, all for free. This attracted even more musicians, along with the demographic most known for consuming music: teenagers and 20-somethings.
And what do teenagers and 20-somethings desire most? Many would tell you it's freedom to express themselves without censorship, and MySpace got it right in this area. The only things MySpace censors is hate speech and extreme nudity (you'll find some bare breasts and buttocks, but that's about it). It's more accessible and more customizable than any networking site that came before it. Users can add music, video, graphics, new fonts and crazy layout schemes to their profiles. They can use graphics and video files that are hosted elsewhere. The "do what you want, we don't care" attitude is a big draw for 16- to 25-year-olds (and everybody else except their parents, probably). Everyone can access full profiles, even if they haven't registered, and they don't need to have any particular affiliation (with a school, business or interest) to use the site.
So, if MySpace is for everyone, who is actually using it? Sixteen- to 25-year-olds make up the majority of MySpace users, and 25 percent of users are registered as minors (aged 14 to 17 -- you need to be at least 14 to register). But you'll find people of all ages using the site for all reasons. There are kids who are clearly about 12 lying about their age because MySpace is the place to be. There are 30-somethings looking to meet people because it's hard to make friends once you're out of grad school, 50-somethings embracing the online networking trend to find new business associates, and 70-somethings looking for a date. You can switch up all of those ages and purposes. You'll find people looking to publish their poetry online or advertise and accept orders for their latest book through their profile page. Unsigned bands use the site to get their music out there and build a following. Established artists like Madonna, the Black Eyed Peas, Audioslave and Billy Corgan use the site to communicate with fans and get feedback on tracks.
It's probably starting to become clear why Rupert Murdoch thinks MySpace is worth more than half a billion dollars. MySpace is a popular-culture magnet.

MySpace Turns Over 90,000 Names of Registered Sex Offenders
The figure is 40,000 more than the amount previously acknowledged by MySpace, according to Attorney General Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut, who along with Attorney General Roy Cooper of North Carolina are among officials pressing social networking sites to adopt more stringent safety measures.
“Almost 100,000 convicted sex offenders mixing with children on MySpace — shown by our subpoena — is absolutely appalling and totally unacceptable,” Mr. Blumenthal said in a statement. “For every one of them, there may be hundreds of others using false names and ages.”
Last year, MySpace, owned by News Corporation, and Facebook.com agreed to set security standards after the Web sites were criticized for not doing enough to protect minors from sexual predators lurking on social networking sites.
Facebook, a privately held company based in Palo Alto, Calif., said the company was still working with Mr. Blumenthal to respond to a similar subpoena.
The disclosure renews the debate of whether social networking sites are a haven for sex offenders. “This is just the tip of the iceberg on MySpace,” said John A. Phillips, chief executive of Aristotle, a company that supplies identity and age verification technologies for companies like the New York State Lottery, breweries and film studios. “These are just the convicted sex offenders” who used their real names.
MySpace’s disclosure follows a report by the Internet Safety Technical Task Force, a panel created by 49 attorneys general, that said the issue is overblown. It concluded the problem of bullying among children, both online and offline, was far more serious than sexual solicitation of minors by adults online.
Mr. Phillips, who served as a member of that task force, has been critical of the report. Ernest Allen, president of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, said the figure was “disturbing” but that there is no way to know how large the presence of online predators really is.
“We don’t know if that’s 80 percent of the population targeting kids on the Internet or 1 percent,” Mr. Allen said.
He commended MySpace for removing convicted sex offenders from its site. “This clearly reinforces the fact that there are a significant number of people who seek access to kids online,” Mr. Allen said.
Hemanshu Nigam, chief security officer for MySpace, said the company had spent the last two years purging problem members from its site.
“The reality is there are 700,000-plus sex offenders living in the streets of America,” Mr. Nigam said. “What we did was build cutting-edge technology to figure out where they might be living on the Internet and remove them from our site.”
MySpace reported that its community grows 10 percent year over year but has also reported a 36 percent drop in the number of registered sex offenders trying to create profiles.
John Cardillo, chief executive of Sentinel Tech Holding, the company that makes the software MySpace uses to find the sex offenders, said that Facebook had become a haven for convicted offenders blocked from creating accounts on MySpace. Mr. Cardillo, who has approached Facebook about using his technology, said he could find 8,000 offenders on Facebook.
Barry Schnitt, a spokesman for Facebook, said that Mr. Cardillo’s figures were inflated. He also said the company actively monitors its Web site and users for suspicious activities.
“When you search for people on Facebook, you don’t get much information — a name and a thumbnail,” Mr. Schnitt said.

'Saddened' Chris Brown Breaks Silence
"Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired," he said in a statement to Access Hollywood. "I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God's help, to emerging a better person."
With dozens of differing reports on the details of Brown's alleged assault on Rihanna running wild this week, the "Kiss Kiss" singer said many of them were false.
"Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and/or reported in the media is wrong," he continued. "While I would like to be able to talk about this more, until the legal issues are resolved, this is all I can say except that I have not written any messages or made any posts to Facebook, on blogs or any place else. Those posts or writings under my name are frauds."
Brown is under investigation by the LAPD for felony criminal threat and allegedly bit and hit Rihanna , who is currently home in Barbados, according to People.
Access has learned that Brown has hired public relations firm Sitrick and Company, who sent the statement. According to its Web site, the company has represented Kim Basinger , Michael Vick, Wesley Snipes and Toni Braxton , among others.
SINGER CHRIS BROWN has apologised
Brown, 19, issued a statement saying: “Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am.
“I am seeking the counselling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones.

Rihanna's Father about His Daughter & Future With Chris Brown
"You think you know somebody, but you really don't," he told People.
Brown allegedly bit and hit the "Disturbia" singer last Saturday night, hours after the two were spotted together at a pre-Grammy party honoring Clive Davis in Beverly Hills.
"There is some bruising," Fenty said of Rihanna 's current status.
According to People, he saw his daughter in Barbados on Thursday, though according to an interview with Us Magazine on Saturday, he denied contact.
"No, I haven't seen her," Fenty told Us. "I haven't seen her bruises."
In both interviews, he hopes that she'll use the experience to do good.
"She will be alright," he told People. "At some point, she will speak out. I hope she will stand up for women all over the world."
While he didn't shed light on what happened that night, the events seemed to come as a surprise to Fenty.
"They seemed pretty happy," he said. "I don't know what went wrong."
And as for the future of Rihanna 's relationship with Brown, he has one piece of fatherly advice.
"If it were me, I'd move on," he said.

Forever Stamp Fact Sheet
- The Forever Stamp first went on sale in April 2007. Since then, more than 6 billion Forever Stamps have been sold.
- As the name suggests, Forever Stamps can be used to mail a one-ounce letter regardless of when the stamps are purchased or used and no matter how prices may change in the future.
- Forever Stamps are always sold at the same price as a regular First-Class Mail stamp. Forever Stamps are currently being sold for 41 cents and will be sold for 42 cents starting May 12, 2008.
- The Postal Service developed the Forever Stamp for consumers to ease the transition during price changes. There is only one Forever Stamp — it features an image of the Liberty Bell.
- Forever Stamps are available for purchase at post offices nationwide, online at usps.com, by phone at 1-800-STAMP-24, and from Automated Postal Centers and ATMs. They are sold in booklets of 20 and sheetlets of 18.
- Customers can use Forever Stamps for international mail, but since all international prices are higher than domestic prices, customers will need to attach additional postage. The value of the Forever Stamp is the domestic First-Class Mail letter price in effect on the day of use.
What is a Forever Stamp?

The U.S. Postal Service submitted a proposal in May 2006 to the U.S. Postal Rate Commission to create a forever stamp beginning in 2007. If approved, forever stamps would be sold at the first class postage rate, which is proposed to be 42 cents at that time. Future forever stamps would be sold based on the first class rate at the time they are purchased. The idea of a forever stamp has previously been proposed, but not yet approved.
The advantages of a forever stamp to the consumer include the ability to stock up on first class postage at the current rate and use them until the supply is exhausted. It is likely that the Postal Service would limit the amount of forever stamps sold at one time. Also, as the rates change, it would no longer be necessary to buy two or three cent stamps to add to the old postage. For most consumers, the greatest advantage of a forever stamp is convenience.
An advantage to the postal service of a forever stamp is cash flow. The postal service obtains cash in the present for stamps that won’t be used until the future. Also, the postal service would not need to use employees to sell the obsolete two-cent stamps or to handle the rush of consumers seeking new higher-rate stamps.
The likelihood of people hoarding stamps is not expected to be a big problem. Most consumers don’t want the hassle of keeping track of a large quantity of stamps. Business mail is not likely to be overly affected, either, since most businesses use metered or preprinted postage rather than stamps.
Many countries, including Finland, Israel, Belgium, Brazil, and Great Britain, use non-denominated stamps, although the way they are used varies from country to country. Some countries refer to these as “stamps for standardized mail.” The United Kingdom first began using these types of stamps, which they call non-value indicators (NVIs), in 1989 to alleviate problems when postal rates change.
Although the U.S. has used non-denominated stamps in its history, they were not the same as a forever stamp. The U.S. Postal Service used lettered stamps as contingency stamps several times when postage rates increased.
The Sneak: Friday The 13th
Oh no, according to the notes for this film it is a “re-imagining”.
That is both a pretentious and incorrect term, because the return of mask-wearing maniac Jason contains zero imagination.

Two sets of college kids head to Crystal Lake and most of them get butchered by Jason in a fairly predictable manner.
The deaths include a leg getting caught in an animal trap and a machete through floor boards and into the head.
Both groups go the woods in search of cannabis and sex. Whatever happened to singing songs round a camp fire?
The cast, none of whom are well-known, were clearly chosen for their looks rather than their acting talent.
Still, if the only thing you want from a movie is blood and breasts, this is your lucky day.
LESBIAN Vampire Killers
Now you can be the first in the world to see the final hilarious trailer. Jimmy (Horne) drags his reluctant pal Fletch (Corden) on a hiking holiday in Wales.
When they find a group of gorgeous girls who are staying in the same cottage, things start to look up.

But they soon discover the village they are staying in is plagued by Lesbian Vampires, and that they are about to become human sacrifices.
Lesbian Vampire Killers is released on March 20.

Aubrey does Playboy
The former DANITY KANE singer is pictured in a series of nude and risqué shots in the new issue of HUGH HEFNER’S magazine. In one she dons a black bikini that leaves little to the imagination. In another she wears only a necklace, stockings and pair of Louboutin heels, as she lays back on a huge golden couch.
Talking of the shoot, Aubrey said: “We constantly feel the need to not say this or not wear this or do that, and taking it all off and being nude is the most natural state that you can be in.

“Being able to feel comfortable with that and show that sex can be a beautiful, comfortable - your sexuality can be a beautiful, comfortable thing - is going to be empowering for people.

“If people saw sex and sexuality in that empowering way in society then we'd have less AIDS, less STDs, less teen pregnancy and less girl-on-girl hate.”
An Abbey Valentine
The 23-year-old model certainly seems to be in the mood for romance.
She slipped into pretty pink undies and a sexy black combo — and looked red hot in both.

This evening Abbey will be cuddling up to soccer star boyfriend Peter Crouch.
And it will be one of the few times the 6ft 7ins Portsmouth striker is happy to get a card.

Her Matalan Valentine’s underwear range starts at £2 for shorts, £3 for T-shirt bra and £5 for a set.
20/20, The Secrets of Melanie Maguire | Season 32, Episode 35
Melanie McGuire becomes a suspect in the disappearance of her husband, Bill......That's enough, hehe ....and i'm sorry, but ican't find any airings of this episode in the next 14 days.
‘Housewives’ will smooch on future episode
When asked for comment, reps for the show wouldn’t confirm or deny the report to Celebuzz.
Another source wouldn’t confirm, but noted “anything is kind of possible right now. You’ve got 'Grey’s Anatomy' and 'Private Practice' basically becoming one two-hour show (with Feb. 12's crossover episode), the longest ‘Dancing With the Stars’ tease ever. I don’t think a kiss between Eva and Teri’s characters could be ruled out, especially if it keeps people interested in the show.”
Kudrow talks ‘Friends’ reunion, TV showShould we brace ourselves for a "Friends" reunion movie?
Lisa Kudrow, who played spacey Phoebe on the hit NBC show, doesn't think so, although she says "I wouldn't be the only one not to do it. I wouldn't want to be that person."
Kudrow’s career has moved away from “Friends” (though people still call out "Phoebe!" on the street) but she still has ties to NBC, this time with a series she’s producing called “Who Do You Think You Are?,” in which celebrities trace their ancestry and travel through their countries of origin.
Teri Hatcher and Eva Longoria are set to lock lipsduring an upcoming episode of "Desperate Housewives," according to Celebuzz. |
Kudrow’s son, Julian, 10, was "not really interested” in her newer, more serious work, but he did recently catch one of his first onscreen glimpses of his mom in the kid-friendly "Hotel for Dogs." "He has proof that I'm an actress," Kudrow said.
And while Kudrow and her son certainly aren’t singing “Smelly Cat” at Central Perk, she did mention that they share a mutual love for Nintendo's handheld DS Lite, which keeps her occupied with puzzle games on set. Kudrow bought her first Gameboy in 1994 and started playing Tetris nonstop.
"It's a certain form of meditation," she said. "It sounds silly, but it just lets me relax when I'm in traffic or waiting through the carpool line."
Weekend box office
I really do feel a touch bad for Jerry Bruckheimer this weekend. Not only is he releasing a film titled “Confessions of a Shopaholic” during a terrific financial crisis, but it’s going up against a horror film being released on Friday the 13th.
There’s no way that “Friday the 13th (2009)” and its 3,000-plus theater opening isn’t going to top the box office.
Also out this weekend in wide release: “The International,” starring Clive Owen and Naomi Watts. Love them both, but I don’t think they have much chance of huge box office success this weekend.
Valentine’s Day reading list
If you wake up disappointed Feb. 15, you might want to check out the new book, “Why Hasn't He Proposed?”
Authors and relationship experts Matt Titus and Tamsen Fadal threw a book party for their new tome Feb. 11, and dished on why Jennifer Aniston might find herself still ringless this Valentine’s day.
“It's no secret every guy out there knows that Jen is trying to reconstruct the relationship she had with Brad,” Titus said. “She is searching for something that isn't out there. She also is not yet over Brad. No guy wants to compete with a ghost."
