The Smiths came out in force on Tuesday night for the premiere of young Jaden's latest flick. Dad Will, mom Jada, and sister Willow hit the red carpet in New York City as 20th Century Fox celebrated their updated take on the classic science-fiction film "The Day the Earth Stood Still."

The Smith family joined the flick's other stars Keanu Reeves, Jennifer Connelly, Kathy Bates, and Jon Hamm for the gala event. But while that famous family was out in full force, Jennifer Connelly left her famous hubby and fellow actor Paul Bettany home with their kids, who unlike Jaden and Willow have not yet headed into the family business.

At an earlier press conference for the film, Connelly, who was a child star herself, raved about 10-year-old Jaden's talents in playing her stepson in the action drama.

"Working with Jaden was fantastic," she enthused. "I think it's really clear that he has a lot to offer. And it was a complex relationship. I think that is a lot of nuance to ask of someone his age and I think he did it beautifully. He even seemed to have a good time doing it, which was really a relief!"

In the new version of "The Day the Earth Stood Still," the main theme of the film centers on the effects of pollution on the planet and what needs to be done to save the earth. That was a big part of why both Connelly and Reeves decided to be a part of the remake, as Reeves explained.

"I do all I can for the environment," he said. "I recycle, have a couple of solar panels, do some rainforest conservation, and I made this movie."

But will fans of the original 1951 classic that starred Michael Rennie and Patricia Neal go for that change in the fundamental plot, which warned against nuclear holocaust? Keanu and company will soon know the answer to that question when their remake opens on Dec. 12.
