IF you are thinking this is a remake of the genre-defining 1980 horror movie Friday the 13th, you’d be wrong.
Oh no, according to the notes for this film it is a “re-imagining”.
That is both a pretentious and incorrect term, because the return of mask-wearing maniac Jason contains zero imagination.
Two sets of college kids head to Crystal Lake and most of them get butchered by Jason in a fairly predictable manner.
The deaths include a leg getting caught in an animal trap and a machete through floor boards and into the head.
Both groups go the woods in search of cannabis and sex. Whatever happened to singing songs round a camp fire?
The cast, none of whom are well-known, were clearly chosen for their looks rather than their acting talent.
Still, if the only thing you want from a movie is blood and breasts, this is your lucky day.
